Entendant cela, G\u00e9ronte, un riche bourgeois envoie sa fille Lucinde se faire soigner, cette derni\u00e8re faisait semblant d&rsquo;\u00eatre muette pour \u00e9viter un mariage impos\u00e9. Apr\u00e8s s&rsquo;\u00eatre faite &lsquo;soigner&rsquo;, la fille de G\u00e9ronte d\u00e9couvra la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et Sganarelle fut condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 mort.
